If

If a child lives with criticism,
he learns to condemn.

If a child lives with hostility,
she learns to fight.

If children live with fears,
they learn to be apprehensive.

If a child lives with pity,
she learns to feel sorry for herself.

If a child lives with jealousy,
he learns to feel guilty.

If children live with encouragement,
they learn to be confident.

If a child learns with tolerance,
he learns to be patient.

If a child lives with praise,
she learns to be appreciative.

If children live with acceptance,
they learn to love.

If a child lives with approval,
he learns to like himself.

If a child lives with recognition,
she learns to have a goal.

If children live with fairness,
they learn what justice is.

If a child lives with honesty,
she learns what truth is.

If a child lives with security,
he learns to have faith in himself and in those about him.

If children live with friendliness,
they learn that the world is a great place in which to live.
